Impound Lot

Yard Rules

  • All towing and administration fees must be paid prior to entry into the impound lot. If the Registered Owner can provide an insurance claim number, then no payment is required.
  • Only the Registered Owner and one additional person are allowed in the impound lot and both will be supervised by our staff.
  • Registered Owners are allowed 15 minutes maximum to retrieve loose personal items.
  • No photos are allowed unless authorized by our Staff members and/or Insurance company.
  • Only access to personal vehicle will be permitted.
  • No working of any kind on Registered Owner’s vehicle is permitted.
  • No open-toed footwear permitted in the impound lot area.

Removing Personal Effects:

  • Tow and administration fees must be paid before collecting “loose” personal items or the Registered Owner must provide an insurance claim number with collision on their policy.
  • Only the Registered Owner or a person authorized by the registered owner can access the vehicle. An Wrecker Towing authorization letter must be completed by the Registered owner if another person is going to access the vehicle on your behalf (Click Release Authorization below. All lines with Asterix must be filled out and form signed.)
  • Valid government photo identification is required prior to access. Examples of these are Drivers License, Passport, Firearms License, and Military Identification.
  • Only the Registered Owner’s prescribed medication and Government identification can be removed without the tow and administration fees being paid. This will be done by our Staff only.


I own the vehicle in the impound lot

If you are the registered owner (your name appears on the current vehicle registration), and you are picking up your vehicle, the following documents are required:

1. Registered owners valid Drivers License or other form of valid Government Photo Identification must be physically presented.
2. Valid registration document must be physically presented as well as valid insurance (physically or electronically).
3. All tow and impound fees paid in full.
4. In order to drive the vehicle out of the Impound, the registered owner or another person with you must present a physical copy of their drivers license. Only the person with the valid drivers license will be authorized to drive the vehicle out of the Impound lot.


I am having a family member or friend drive the vehicle out of the impound for me

If you are unable to come to the Impound Lot, you can have someone remove the vehicle on your behalf. This type of situation can be accommodated but some extra steps are required to remove your vehicle. These steps are:

  • An Wrecker Towing completed authorization letter must be approved
  • A clear copy of the Registered Owners valid government photo identification must be attached to the release authorization.
  • The person picking up the vehicle will need to produce a physical valid driver’s license.
  • Valid registration document must be physically presented as well as valid insurance (physically or electronically).
  • All tow and impound fees paid prior to vehicle removal.

The vehicle is a rental and you would like to remove your personal contents or pick up the vehicle

If the vehicle is a rental vehicle, you will need to have the following items in place:

  • The person picking up the vehicle or removing personal contents will need to produce a physical valid driver’s license.
  • A copy of the rental agreement issued in the name of the person attending must be physically presented.
  • A letter from the rental company written on company letterhead authorizing you to remove the vehicle or access the vehicle for your personal contents.
  • All tow and impound fees must be paid or an insurance claim number must be provided prior to vehicle or personal contents removal.

The vehicle is registered to a company

  • Incorporation papers showing the company name and the company owners/shareholder personal name(s). 
  • Valid registration document must be physically presented as well as valid insurance (physically or electronically).
  • All tow and impound fees paid prior to vehicle removal.
  • If another person or company employee not listed on the incorporation documents is picking up the vehicle an Wrecker Towing release authorization form must be completed by a person listed on the Incorporation Documents.
  • Any person picking up the vehicle from the impound must present a physical valid Drivers License.
